Can I get a Palm Beach County Contractor Surety Bond if I have bad credit?

Yes, you can obtain the surety bond if you have bad credit.  All contractors are required to submit their credit report to the county prior to obtaining their license.  Individuals with credit scores greater than 660 meet the minimum credit score requirement of the county.  Contractors with credit scores between 580 and 659 must complete a 14 hour Construction Industry Licensing Board approved financial responsibility course with a minimum grade of 75%.  Additionally, you will need the FL Sub 660 Credit Score Bond to become licensed with the CILB.  Applicants with a credit score less than 580 will be denied by Palm Beach County for not meeting their minimum credit requirements.
